Video footage I shot at San Diego Comic-Con 2009. Comic-Con is the largest pop culture convention on the planet. Over 4 and a half days in July, around 130,000 comic-books geeks and Sci-Fi nerds from around the world gather in San Diego to celebrate, check out films that you won’t see until NEXT Summer and meet their heroes from cinema, television and, of course, the world of comic books.
This year, my first visit, I got to see such celebs as Robert Downey jnr (promoting both Iron Man 2 and Sherlock Holmes), Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman (Book of Eli), Josh Brolin and Megan Fox (Jonah Hex), Elijah Wood (9), Tim Burton and Johnny Depp (Alice in Wonderland), James Cameron (Avatar), Peter Jackson (District 9), Freddie Highmore and Kristin Bell (Astroboy), Jackie Earle Haley (A Nightmare on Elm Street, V), David Tennant (Doctor Who), John Barrowman (Torchwood) and, best of all, a real hero of mine – Hayao Miyazaki.
That was amongst many others.
Anyway, here’s some video I took – mainly of the huge Exhibitors Hall and Cosplayers. Hall H, where the big presentations take place, doesn’t allow video photography so you’ll have to check my Facebook if you want to see still images of the stars mentioned above –
